Book Ordering:
Book sales are an essential element of author visits. Ying does school visits to connect with her readers and inspire young writers. Book sales in conjunction with in-person visits give students a sense of connection. Each time the students share the books with their families, they revisit the lessons from the visit.
Therefore, Ying requests that schools…
Parents and students are always disappointed if they can’t buy Ying’s books after her presentations! Please allow enough time to order before the visit, especially if your school is overseas. Ying will personalize books during the day of the visit. For books that arrive after her visit, here is a "Happy Cooking" signed bookplate and a "Happy Reading" signed bookplate that you can use!
Ying is always pleasantly surprised that her cookbooks are the first titles to sell out, so don’t forget to include them in the order form! After hearing her presentations, students are always excited to try out Ying’s recipes. Many tell her that they want to buy the cookbooks for their mothers so they can cook them “yummy and healthy” food.
Book Ordering is another popular form of fundraising for the host institution. Contact Ying today for details!

Ying's Accomodation Requirements:
Classroom logistics:
Ying's start time is flexible with daily scheduling, with her preferred start time after 9:00 AM. Ying only needs 5-10 minutes breaks between sessions and one hour for lunch. Ying would greatly appreciate a tight schedule, without large gaps between sessions. She is delighted to participate in dinners or other events, though if she has to adjust for jet lag after a long trip, Ying would prefer to have the first evenings free for quiet time and rest. Diet: Lunch/Dinner: As Ying writes cookbooks and lectures on healthy eating and living, she is a careful eater. She doesn’t eat white carbs, red meat, or poultry. She does eat soy, seafood, eggs, cheese, nuts, vegetables, and fruit. Ying prefers healthy organic foods when possible. She doesn’t drink any soft drinks, only bottled or filtered water. |
Transportation:
For Local Visits: Ying will need your assistance for transportation as she does not drive long distances. Please send someone to pick her up or you can book her a Lyft or Uber. For Non-Local Visits: If necessary, please have someone meet Ying at the airport. Transportation to and from her hotel will be necessary. Lodging: Since Ying gives all her energy to her presentations, she needs quiet time at the end of the day. For that reason, Ying does not stay at private residences. She would like to have a quiet non-smoking, nice hotel room. Please submit your lodging recommendation for the area for review or ask for Ying's preferred lodging. |
